"What is the Value of Online Learning?" Community College Research Center Asks

The Community College Research Center Based at Columbia U. in New York has taken issue with the U.S. Department of Education findings that claim that online learning is as beneficial as traditional education. The CCRC released a report this month that qualifies the earlier data and notes that online learning actually works best when students are "well-prepared" college students and already enrolled in traditional classes. While noting that online education can help students access higher education, the CCRC questioned whether the outcomes of online courses would be as beneficial to low-income or underprepared students.
